Starting life in the 1930's under Kahala Sportswear in Hawaii, Duke Kahanamoku became somewhat of a legendary walking, talking advertisement for all things Hawaii. The shirts manufactured under his name from the 1930s to 1960s are incredibly sought after & highly collectible. Today Duke's legendary line of authentic Hawaiian Shirts are reproduced under license by Toyo Enterprises in Japan, famous for their true reproduction styles via Sun Surf. The growth of Duke's brand allowed for these shirts to make their way into the US and become the mainstay for resort wear. This special edition 'Wondrous Palm Tree' Hawaiian shirt is a true replica from an original late 1950s shirt manufactured in Hawaii under Duke's brand. Made in Japan by Sun Surf of Toyo Enterprise, but under Duke Kahanamoku license, this shirt has been cut from a mid-weight Fujiet Rayon. It features a discharge print throughout depicting Palm Trees throughout.
